Philosophy

The Day Camps philosophy is structured around small group work, comprising of between 8 and 12 campers per group (depending on age). Each member of staff will be allocated their group of children who they will be the group leader of for the entire week working through a set timetable of activities. Groups will be divided up into sections by ages, and a senior member of staff will support group leaders, assist in sessions and run section games.

The philosophy of the small group work is:

To help children develop socially;

To enable children to learn tolerance, understanding and acceptance of themselves and others

To help children become less self centred and to think more about the others around them

For members to learn the art of compromise

A greater sense of belonging and group identity
